THE FACE OF ENTERTAINING IS CHANGING...
ELEGANT HOME PARTIES NOT JUST FOR “RICH AND FAMOUS”
(SAN ANTONIO, TX) In the world of fine dining, restaurants offer fantastic meals and libations. The only drawback may be the trip to the restaurant.
In today’s entertainment scene, people are taking advantage of another option.
ENTERTAIN IN YOUR HOME WITH A PERSONAL CHEF PREPARING A FABULOUS MEAL.
Take it one step further and have an attendant for serving the meal and cleaning, and the host has the evening to enjoy with the guests.
Going home again – there is an emerging longing for the past and simpler times. Neighborliness and a regeneration of honest friendships is on the upswing. The invitation to one’s home for dinner is an ultimate gift. It shows you have genuine feelings towards your guests.
Business meetings are becoming more popular in one's home. Event planners are utilizing personal chefs as another option to taking clients to a busy place. The atmosphere is more relaxed and you are able to socialize and get around to talk more freely with each guest. Business entertaining does not have to be about impressions, but a sense of caring.
Chef Bill Waring, who owns Thyme 'n Wine, A Personal Chef Service, has been preparing dinner parties for years and has noticed an increased interest in this type of entertaining.
From an intimate dinner for a couple, to a gathering of twelve, Personal chefs can tailor each event for any specific theme. It can be a very romantic evening with all of the dinner decisions made ahead of time. What a way to impress the special person in your life when you are going to propose marriage and you want a quiet relaxed environment.
“I think since 9-11 people cherish friendships a little more”, Waring observes, “and people want to express their friendships in a more personal way”.
“Personal Chefs are a little different from other meal services”. Waring explains that “Personal Chefs cook all of the food from scratch in the clients' home and usually avoid catered meals”.
Since the host will generally purchase the wine and other libations from a package store, the total cost of the evening is usually less costly than entertaining at a fine restaurant.
The menu will have been planned several days in advance of the party so all of the ingredients can be ordered if they are not readily available. If wine is to be paired with each course, selections must be made ahead of time so all is ready.
On the day of the dinner party, the Personal Chef begins early. There are recipes to be researched and ingredients to be purchased. Since the Personal chef will use all of his own equipment, all of the procedures must be reviewed in advance to be sure everything is ready for the cooking process.
Chef Waring will have done a complete review of the facilities prior to the day of the party. “The client may have limited facilities in the kitchen,” Waring says, “so planning ahead of time will be necessary so the Chef can bring any additional equipment.”
